CALL FOR ARTISTS’ BOOKS

Submit by Friday, June 13th to be a part of

Artists’ Books & Cookies 3 at Twooga Booga

at 356 S. Mission Rd. on June 28-29

 

Fundación Alumnos47, Ooga Booga and ForYourArt are seeking artists’ books to present in the third iteration of their Artists’ Books and Cookies event at Ooga Twooga / 356 S. Mission Road, LA 90033. We invite you to share limited edition artist’s books hand made with special attention to unusual techniques and materials. We hope to present a mosaic of independent artist book publishing in Los Angeles and beyond.

This is an open call for artist’s books to be displayed at Ooga Twooga for a two-day public exhibition on June 28 and 29, 2014. Some of these books will be acquired by Fundación Alumnos47 for their public collection of artist’s books in Mexico City.

Submissions are welcome now through June 13th. Books will be selected by representatives of Fundación Alumnos47, Ooga Booga and ForYourArt for display. Artists may submit up to two books. Any books not selected will be returned to the artist.

Books can be dropped off or mailed starting now to Ooga Booga #2 (356 S. Mission Rd. Los Angeles, CA 90033) or ForYourArt (6020 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036). Please confirm open hours at ForYourArt or package books so they can be slipped through the mail slot. Ooga Twooga’s hours are Wednesday-Sunday 11AM-6PM. Please include name, title, and contact info with all submissions. If you are mailing your book, please include a self-addressed envelope with proper postage for return; please email info@foryouart.com if we should expect your submission via mail.

All books must be received by Friday, June 13th and be accompanied by a completion of the online submission form. Books can be picked up at Ooga Twooga the week following the exhibition (before Sunday, July 6).

A preview on Feb. 25 at Regen Projects in West Hollywood; an exhibition and sale on April 5 at Paula Cooper Gallery and Metro Pictures in New York; and an auction on May 14 at Christie’s in New York.
